HOW WE GOT INVOLVED IN PAINT BY NUMBER ART THERAPY !
Back in December 2020 I was diagnosed with tongue cancer. This year has been very difficult, I have had 8 sessions of chemotherapy and 35 sessions of radiotherapy which has left me weak and very anxious. I think I am over the worst of it but still receiving treatment, Cancer will always live with me.
A massive thank you to all the medical staff, Doctors, Nurses and everyone else who helped me through this difficult year - I can not Thank You enough !
This is when Geraldine bought me my first Paint By Numbers kit. I was very sceptical at the time. It turned out it was just what I needed to help me relax and perfect for taking my mind away from my thoughts. I am a bit addicted these days!
We decided in August 2021 to set up a small family business to sell these Art Therapy Painting by Numbers Kits. If we can help and benefit people who have the same problems with relaxation, stress as I did, it would not have all been for nothing.

Whether you are a beginner or a pro, our paint by numbers art therapy kits are the perfect way to relax and take our minds away from stresses and strains created by our busy life styles. Our paint by number kits guarantee you end up with a beautiful piece of artwork when you finish.
Follow the following easy steps to get started -
- Find yourself an area where you can work comfortably, with a table and chair and good lighting.
- Open you complete Premium Art Kit and read your instructions which are included.
- Unpack your ready to use acrylic paint pots, 3 paint brushes, a smaller coloured picture of the artwork which you use as a guide as you paint and your pre-stretched coloured linen canvas.
Everything is included for you to complete your masterpiece!
- You will also need a glass of water to wash your brushes, a cloth towel or tissue to dry your them.
- Lay out everything on your table and you're good to go.
- On your canvas you will notice numbers which correspond to the numbers on your pots of paints.
- Simply fill in each area with the matching numbered pot. We recommend that you use one colour and matching pot at a time. This will allow each painted section to dry before changing to the next colour pot. This is the best way to paint instead of painting section by section. This will also help to stop your paint from drying out but a little water will revive them.
- We recommend to start at the top of your canvas and work down, start on the left and work towards the right or start on the right and work your way left. Choose what seems most comfortable and best for you.
- Also, start with the lighter colours first as it,s easier to cover any mistakes with a darker colour later on your painting.
- If you would like to blend the paints for a more natural edge simply use a dry brush and gently feather the wet paint.
- Start slowly and enjoy the experience, take your time as there is no rush when you are painting. Some people take a couple of days to complete and others take a couple of months. This will stop you making mistakes like using the wrong colour in the wrong sections.
- Apply more than one coat of paint in certain places as needed to darken an area and sometimes you need to cover the number.
- At the end of your painting session remember to clean and dry your bushes and make sure all your pots of acrylic paint pots have the top closed firmly to stop them drying out.

What is Paint by Numbers
- Back in the early 1950’s, Paint by Numbers became into existence. It was a form of art performed by filling in pre-numbered areas on a canvas with matching colours of paint. Beautiful designs, everything included for you to finish your masterpiece.
Are these for adults
- Yes, these premium art kits are designed for ages 12+ to 100 year old's.
What is in a the kit
- Each Premium paint by Numbers kit is all inclusive! Included in each kit you will find a coloured printed pre-numbered and printed pre-stretched quality printed linen canvas on a pine frame, all the paint necessary to complete the design (no mixing required) and paint brushes. All you will need is warm water to wash the brushes when you change colours.
What size are they
- We stock the most popular size of Paint by Numbers sets and the size is 40 x 50 cm, 16” x 20”. Our beautiful designs are available in either horizontal or vertical formats.
How many paints in the kit
- Our Paint by Numbers kits include between 20-32 mixed colour paint pots depending on the picture. We always provide enough paint for you to finish your artwork.
What happens if I paint the wrong colour
- Do not panic! Leave the paint colour dry and repaint it in the correct colour.
What else do I need
- Premium Paint by Numbers kits are all inclusive, the only extra supplies you will need are paper towels and warm water to clean your paintbrush.
I can't paint
- Don't worry! Our Premium Paint by Numbers artwork is designed so that every colour or every is provided for you. No blending or mixing of colours is required. Most colours will cover in one coat, however, some light colours may need two coats to cover the printed numbers. All instructions are provided in English and in colour.
How long does it take to complete a paint by number kit
- The length of time it takes to complete a Paint by Numbers kit will vary depending on the artwork and the hours that you work on it. Paint by Numbers is a relaxing and therapeutic hobby, they can be completed in a couple days or you can do a little at a time over a series of weeks/months. It is totally up to the you. Painting is an experience and not about the paint.
Why acrylic paint
- Our paints are high quality water based acrylic paints and will dry to the touch within 10 – 15 minutes depending on the thickness of paint application. Acrylic paints offer a non-toxic alternative that is better for the environment as well as human health.
- To revive paint that is old or has been left open follow the steps below.
- 1. Add a few drops of water to the paint
- 2. Seal the pot lid and wait a few minutes
- 3. Stir with a cocktail stick
- 4. Repeat steps 1-3 until the paints have thinned
Do I wash the brushes
- Yes, clean your paintbrush when changing colours as well as after each painting session. Rinse the brush well in a container of water. NEVER let a brush sit in a container of water or rest on its bristles as this will distort the bristles.
